How many years have you been in ministry among the vulnurable, marginalized, and under-resourced?

What training did you receive that equipped you for justice and mercy ministries?
I worked for about 6 or 7 years on the Mexico side of the border in a short-term, construction ministry.
What are your primary concerns for the ministry?
We are just getting started and trying to figure out what our next steps will be.
What feels like the most difficult aspect of your life in ministry?
Being the only one with our understanding of the gospel and with no other Anglicans/Anglican churches within 2 hours.
What gives you the greatest joy?
Changes lives
What spiritual disciplines help sustain you in your rhythms of life among the vulnerable, marginalized, and under-resourced?
Eucharist, daily prayer, family prayer,
What would you like fellow Anglicans (bishops, churches, the average parishioner) to know about your ministry?
That we exist and we want your participation and prayers.
How would you like fellow Anglicans (bishops, churches, the average parishioner) to grow in regards to justice and mercy issues?
To think more deeply, to act more boldly, and to speak more wisely.
What are your favorite books related to justice and mercy issues?
Genesis 1-3, For the Life of the World, Beginning to Pray, Enrique's Journey,
What are your favorite movies related to justice and mercy issues?
Dead Man Walking,
What do you wish people knew about justice ministry in general or specific arenas of justice work?
It does not stand apart from the Eucharist, which does not stand apart from the Church.
Tell us a bit about your story and your heart for justice and mercy.
My heart isn't specifically for justice and mercy but rather for the whole Church and the fullness of our expression and experience of the gospel which necessarily includes work in the area of justice and mercy. I think that the issues of homosexuality, abortion, and immigration are the major conversations for the church in our generation and I desire to facilitate our province's response to at least the immigration/border part of that.
